This is a place for my rants. I presume it is going to be about food. The places that I have trudged into in the quest for something to relish. And I have been successful more often at the hole in the walls and quiet little restaurants that are tucked away... far from the maddening crowd.

Celebrating Thanksgiving in New England

As always, our friends in New England, invited us over for thanksgiving with their family. My wife and I were honored and made our plans to get there. I had to find a way to get from Toronto to New Hampshire.

I even surprised my wife by getting to her apartment a day before she was expecting me. I was glad that she did not scream when she saw me inside the apartment.

Getting to Warner was fun. Contrary to our nightmares of driving on the evening before thanksgiving the traffic was almost absent on our drive from Hartford, CT to Warner, NH. We were confident of eating Pizza at our regular place in Warner. At 7:30 pm in the evening, we had the great luck of being told by the restaurant that they had run out of food! I guess people in Warner were really hungry. So, we had to get to our friend's place hungry when we had told them not to expect us for supper.

We walked in to see our friends, Kimberely & Georg and Kimberley's parents at the table having their supper. It was Lobster, now my wife's favorites. Don asked us if we had eaten. We confessed that we had not. So, we are at the table in a jiffy and finishing off what was left of the lobster. It was the start of a great three days!

Don got the turkey into the oven. Quite a bit of chat around the supper table and we hit the sack past midnight.
